Battle Rapper Dizaster Calls Out Math Hoffa After Punching Serius Jones
Rap battle veteran Dizaster reaches out to DJ Skee to deliver a special announcement live on-the-air. Looking anxious and ready to talk, Dizaster decides to call out Math Hoffa after the rapper recently punched Serius Jones during their battle at Summer Madness 3. Considering the blow a sign of disrespect to the culture, Dizaster proceeded to lay into Hoffa and explains he now has a personal issue with him. Dizaster went on to give insight into Hoffa's behind-the-scenes threats and alleged aggressive antics he utilizes to get inside the mind of his opponents before every battle. Before heading out, Dizaster makes it clear he wants to settle the score the Math Hoffa, says he's not afraid of the rapper and tells DJ Skee he won't come to Los Angeles to go lyrically one-on-one.

JAY Z "MAGNA CARTA, HOLY GRAIL" SELLS 538,000 FIRST WEEK
As if there was a chance that this wasn’t going to happen, Jay-Z lands his 13th #1 album as MCHG sold 528k in its first week on shelves*. Add that to the Platinum certification that the RIAA has already honored and I think it’s safe to say Hov is doing alright for himself. And for folks keeping tabs at home, J. Cole sold another 38k (#3) and Kanye’s Yeezus tallied 28k (#6).
* A number that beat out both of Hov’s latest efforts in The Blueprint 3 (465k) and Watch the Throne (476k)

Math Hoffa vs Daylyt (Full Battle) - BarFest 01
Math Hoffa vs Daylyt, this is the clash of the titans for the main event at BarFest 01. Hosted by none other than battle raps own Poison Pen and Power 106, Shade 45 & MTV's celebrity DJ's The Los Angeles Leakers. The battle that had the culture buzzing all month is finally upon us. The New York bully goes head to head against the LA's own. Both emcees came prepared to leave their opponent walking away without a single round won. The battle was filled with plenty of comedic moments and witty punchlines and is ultimately cut short for a shocking reason. Who will come out on top? Will it be Math's "Finally, daddy's spending time with me..." punchlines or Daylyt's crazy schemes "To the Bat Mobile!".

GO-RILLA WARFARE / URLTV PRESENTS JC VS POOH (Video and Review)
Battle boss Mz Gracie gave the fans of URL a rising classic featuring JC (Pontiac, Mi) and Pooh Bear (Chicago) at the GO-RILLA WARFARE/ URLTV event this April in Chicag0
Even though both homies gave us that fire I would have to say JC edged this one out with witty bars, punchlines humor and aggresiveness. Pooh had some moments too in the 1st and 3rd rounds but JC was too much for him in my opinion. Not as hard hitting as the JC vs Yung Ill but this battle is sure to entertain CHECK IT OUT AFTER THE JUMP!

Big T Talks Chief Keef & Chicago Violence
Chicago native Big T came to out VladTV headquarters and sat down with our battle rap journalist Michael Hughes for an exclusive interview. Being that he is from the mean streets of Chi-Town, T was questioned about the violence he experienced growing up, and still sees in his neighborhood presently.
He was asked about how he thinks Cheif Keef could maintain his fame and remain in the spotlight without letting his street ties get the best of him. Big T reminisced on his own struggles and how he used battle rap as a way out of the everyday hood life. He thought back to times where he started out having to carry weapons to his battles for safety reasons, and how he's now rapping in front of large crowds for good money all-the-while increasing his level of fame worldwide.

SMACK Talk: The Secret Success Of The Rap Battle Industry

S/O HIPHOPDX FOR THE LOOK!
Organized Battle Rap leagues have reached a staggering level of popularity. Has the sometimes side show quietly moved into the mainstream?
It’s a sunny Sunday afternoon in Manhattan’s East Village neighborhood. A thousand-plus people decked in snapbacks and graphic tees are standing in a line stretched down the E. 11th Street sidewalk, around the corner along 3rd Avenue, and around another corner heading west on E. 12th Street - nearly encircling an entire city block, roughly a half-mile in distance. All arrived at least two hours in advance; some as early as 9:30AM. All are impatiently waiting for Webster Hall’s hallowed doors to open. The iconic locale has hosted innumerable events since it’s 1886 launch. Masquerade balls, union rallies, concerts headlined by Madonna and The Rolling Stones, scenes from Martin Scorsese’s 1980 classic, Raging Bull have all taken place within Webster Hall’s Grand Ballroom. It’s literally a New York City landmark; an institution leaking history.
